Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Tidewater Orthopaedics. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including explaining procedures and recording patient information.
  • Clean and prepare examination rooms, and properly apply and instruct patients on the use of splints and dressings.
  • Use EMR to order additional testing, work notes, and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
  • Autoclaving and cleaning of instruments and other clinic equipment.
  • Perform PT/INR exams on patients, including instruction on Coumadin dosage per the physician.
  • Wound cleaning, suture removal, and dressing of wounds.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stocking of rooms.
Requirements:
  • Must hold one of the following certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • 2+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital.
  • Experience in Orthopedics preferred, but not required.
  • CPR Certified.
  • Ability to travel to Hampton and Williamsburg offices.
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands:

Frequently standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to pull, lift, carry, and push greater than 150lbs repetitive. Frequent stooping, kneeling, balancing, climbing, and balancing. 95% of work will be performed inside with noise and/or vibrations. No extreme heat, cold, wet, or humid work environment. Repetitive physical and verbal interaction with patients.
