Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Geomagnetism Developer to join our team at Inalab Consulting Inc. The successful candidate will support the US Geological Survey (USGS) Geological Hazards Science Center (GHSC) with tasks related to design, modification, testing, and validation of web services, applications, and interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, modify, test, and validate web services, applications, and interfaces to improve efficiency of data handling, processing, archiving, and dissemination for the USGS Geomagnetism Program.
  • Support the GHSC with tasks related to the operation and maintenance of Geomagnetism Program data acquisition, electronics, and communications equipment.
  • Develop, support, and interface with highly specialized real-time field data acquisition software.
  • Participate in the monitoring and maintenance of applications and systems software to ensure maximum uptime of existing and newly developed software in an active operational environment.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript (preferably Angular), Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting, Python, and GitLab or other collaborative software revision control and configuration management software.
  • Experience with container and cloud programming is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of database development, configuration, and maintenance.
