MRB Engineering Specialist

Hanwha Aerospace USA LLC is seeking a skilled MRB Engineer to join our team in Cheshire, CT. As an MRB Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating systemic causes of non-conformance with regards to defects arising during the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities- Develop in-house or quick-turn supply capability to execute standard repairs, including latent defect weld repair, local heat treatment, NDT, machine prep, plasma spray, post-machine inspection, nickel flash plate, and more.
- Analyze variations to part print specifications that affect part form, fit, and function.
- Perform tolerance stacks, metallurgical, NDT, and heat transfer analysis.
- Author and maintain Technical Analysis Reports associated with classes of standard repairs by part family or material type.
- Capture and document root cause analysis for verified discrepancies, assist with root causes for systemic shop issues (missed offsets, incorrect technical approach, supplier raw material or outside processing defects).
- Work with suppliers to identify and implement rework and manufacturing process changes.
- Participate in training as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relatable design or manufacturing experience required.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced, learning environment to meet quick deadlines.
- Possesses experience working with Operations/Process documents, procedures, and records.
- Demonstrates ability to read and interpret CAD-based tooling, component, and assembly drawings.
- Understands Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control.
- Demonstrates strong familiarity with high-end manufacturing equipment and processes (i.e., castings, metal cutting, turning, coatings, milling, EDM, welding, sheet metal/composite forming and joining, metal tube bending).
- Possesses knowledge of manufacturing support processes and systems (i.e., inspection, gauging, data collection, records, and reporting, first article approvals).
- This position offers a competitive salary range between $95,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
