Job Title: Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at The Cardiovascular Care Group. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering exceptional medical services.

Responsibilities:
  • Admit patients requiring hospitalization and provide pre-operative and post-operative care in accordance with mutually agreed-upon practice protocols.
  • Make daily rounds on hospitalized patients, document progress notes, and implement therapeutic plans jointly with the supervising physician.
  • Provide intra-operative and post-operative support to physicians and consult with patients on the wards and in the emergency room.
  • Perform venipuncture, EKGs, A-line insertions, foley catheter insertions, wound debridement, and incision and drainage.
  • Initiate, participate in, and/or facilitate discharge planning and provide patient and family education.
  • Answer phone calls from hospital staff and physicians regarding patient care and return phone calls to family members at the request of physicians.
  • Participate in quality assurance and patient satisfaction programs and maintain a rotational weekend on-call schedule.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of experience as a PA in a hospital setting, with vascular surgery experience a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle shifting priorities.
  • Deliver care in a professional and reliable manner and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and the NJ State Board on the Regulation of Physician Assistants.
  • BLS/ACLS certification.
