Job Summary

The Security Operator, also known as the Security Operations Specialist, is a critical member of the Hollywood Park team responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and assets. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to all security needs and calls for service, working closely with local law enforcement as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests and employees while monitoring crowd flow and ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Work closely with operations staff to effectively meet visitors and programming needs while maintaining safety and security measures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all floors, exhibits, and specific areas, rotating posts as assigned.
  • Report any malfunctions, misconduct, or operational and safety issues, and assist with the development and implementation of public safety plans for day-to-day operations and special events.
  • Follow and adhere to policies and procedures needed to maintain security protocols within the stadium, loading dock, and perimeters, up to but not limited to other areas of the Campus.
  • Assure property is secure and that no damage occurs due to negligence or vandalism.
  • Monitor entry and access ways to the Campus, ensuring all guests and employees have appropriate access to specific areas.
  • Respond immediately to fire control center to locate, acknowledge, and silence alarm, and enact fire safety/evacuations when necessary.
  • Screen and confirm all employees, vendors, delivery personnel, guests, and artists entering the venue, ensuring they have appropriate access.
  • Review and verify documentation to ensure validity, and log all activity, movement, and repairs in appropriate logs, ensuring all incidents are accurately documented.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CA Guard card, with ability to maintain status during employment.
  • 1+ years of relevant security experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and within time constraints and aggressive deadlines.
  • Guided by doing the right thing, always displays honesty and integrity in approach to work and communications, and able to take responsibility for actions.
  • Experience working at an arena, stadium, or similar type venue preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting: up to 40 pounds.
  • Climbing/Balancing: prolonged steps or stair climbing, balancing.
  • Stooping/Bending: occasional.
  • Standing/Sitting: prolonged standing/sitting throughout the day.
  • Reaching: occasional overhead as well as horizontal.

Environmental Conditions

  • Inside/Outside: generally, indoor conditions are air-conditioned, and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, rain, sleet, and wind.
  • Cold/Heat: general air-conditioned environment as well as outside and exposed to elements, including direct sunlight, rain, sleet, and wind.
  • Wet/Dry: not unusual moist/dry environment.
  • Noise/Vibrations: high noise level and vibration.
  • Hazards: non-hazardous environment.
  • Fumes/Dust/Odors: normally controlled environment.
  • Heights: comfortable with working heights.
