Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies and collaborating with clinicians to ensure the appropriateness of studies.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for echocardiogram exams by positioning them on examination tables and explaining procedures in a clear and concise manner.
- Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with echocardiogram exams.
- Consult with referring physicians regarding patient history and determine appropriate images required.
- Set up equipment to administer exams in a timely fashion and use technical judgment to ensure accurate results.
- Perform echocardiography procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography, as required.
- Observe patients during exams and recognize and report any changes in their condition.
- Analyze sonographic data and document test results in patient medical records.
- Report findings to physicians and discuss any need for further evaluation.
- Perform calibration checks and troubleshoot mechanical problems with ultrasound equipment.
- Vocational or technical school diploma required.
- One of the following credentials required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS).
- 1-3 years of technical experience required.
The salary range for this position is $82,500-$136,340/year. Northwell Health is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
