We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Engineer to join our team at PacifiCorp. As a Student Engineer, you will assist in conducting analysis, creating system specifications, developing, testing, and updating engineering and business applications and databases.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Energy Management System (EMS) Engineers in performing analysis, testing, and implementation of real-time EMS database systems.
- Formulate and define specifications for real-time applications in a multi-platform environment.
- Consult with the business regarding new functionality and enhancements to their systems.
- Be responsible for quality assurance and the evaluation of new and existing software products.
- Support the problem resolution process for database and application issues.
- Work with other companies and entities to ensure that PacifiCorp meets their system requirements.
- Resolve moderately complex errors and conflicts within the database.
- Assist with developing operational scenarios to be used for training purposes.
- Analyze system design, programming, and modifications.
- Enrolled full time in an accredited engineering college/university.
- Sophomore standing or higher in electrical/computer engineering, computer science, information management systems, or a related field.
- Ability to interact favorably with project and work teams.
- Communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools.
- Average hours of work per week not to exceed 20 hours per week per calendar year.
- Experience with database management systems and software development.
- Knowledge of programming languages and software applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
