Job Summary:
The Payroll Tax Accountant is a critical role within the Bayone organization, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely filing of payroll tax returns and payments to government agencies. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate audits conducted by internal and external entities on accounting practices, reporting, and tax returns.
- Ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Work with external agencies to ensure proper payments and tax reporting.
- Responsible for assigned GL account reconciliation.
- Take the lead on projects requiring research, organization, communication, and problem resolution.
- Provide guidance to internal and external customers.
- Accountable for maintaining department applications and systems functionality.
- Support team members on all accounting issues.
- Look for areas of opportunity to create enhancements and efficiencies within existing systems and processes.
- Make recommendations for system and process improvements.
- Prepare periodic financial statements and reports for management.
- Analyze financial reports and review expense records using QMF, Access, and Peoplesoft and Oracle query tool.
Requirements:
- 4 or more years of accounting experience in a large organization with mainframe-based account systems.
- 3 or more years of payroll tax experience working with governmental agencies is desirable.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of GAAP.
- Intermediate level PC skills with knowledge of Windows and Microsoft software applications.
- Intermediate to Advance experience with MS EXCEL (V Look ups, pivot tables and SUMIFs).
- Peoplesoft, Oracle and ADP experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of reporter writer systems and SQL helpful.
- Team Player.

Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
