The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing, coordinating, and reviewing our Canadian payroll.

This role partners closely with Human Resources to ensure proper payroll deductions for benefits elections and executes on the payroll strategy as directed by the Manager, Payroll.

We expect that this position will offer opportunities to support the finance team and work on projects outside of payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely Canadian processing using Workday platform for biweekly and semimonthly payrolls, while ensuring compliance with company policies, as well as Canadian multi-province payroll law compliance.
  • Process new hires, status changes, terminations, third party disability pay, and garnishments.
  • Work with Canada location to research and resolve payroll related problems.
  • Monitor, retain and secure proper payroll documentation to include preparation for audits.
  • Assist with Workday testing and running reports.

Requirements:

  • Payroll Compliance Certification (PCP) Preferred
  • ~4 years processing Canadian Payroll multiple provinces
  • ~2 years Canadian payroll accounting and tax
  • ~ Payroll tax:
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian Payroll Laws
  • ~ Workday:
  • Proficiency using Workday and/or similar payroll platforms
  • ~ Software:
  • Proficient using MS Office with strong Excel skills
  • ~ Attention to Detail:
  • Ability to diligently attend to details and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc.

This job does not require travel.

This full-time, non-exempt position is open to remote work.
