The Respiratory Supervisor is a key member of the HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital team, responsible for overseeing the performance of the cardiopulmonary staff and ensuring that procedures and policies are met in full accordance. This role requires strong interdepartmental development and interpersonal skills to effectively provide leadership and support to maintain working relationships within the various departments of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Director in orientating new employees and determining education and skills competency.
- Conduct yearly evaluations of current staff, performance improvement, scheduling, and special projects.
- Perform critical and non-critical respiratory care procedures through both physician directives and Respiratory Care Protocols.
- Coordinate provision of Respiratory Care Services with other medical functions and serve as a technical resource for department personnel.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
- Continuously evaluate and monitor services to assure quality care to the patient.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
- Associate Degree.
HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offering a full range of services, including interventional and therapeutic care, labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We are a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center, a Level II Trauma Center, and a Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
