Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team in the Cytopathology Laboratory. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis of malignant, pre-malignant lesions, and diseases on the microscopic level from virtually any body site.
Responsibilities- Screen and report negative gynecological and non-gynecological cytology cases
- Identify and refer abnormal cases to pathologists
- Perform quality control activities
- Train and evaluate cytotechnology students
- Perform digital image analysis, FISH techniques, and/or tissue review
- Serve as a member of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Team
- Provide technical advice and coverage to the preparation and processing area
- Assist cytology specialists and management personnel with quality assurance activities and continuous improvement projects
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
- Cytologist (CT, ASCP) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT, ASCP) certification required
- Experience using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects
