Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist PRN to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our pharmacy staff, you will play a critical role in providing patient-centered medication management and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of medications dispensed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications with precision and attention to detail.
  • Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders, ensuring correct medication, dose, route, and quantity.
  • Document allergy and clinical information as required, and handle post-op and transfer orders in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
  • Utilize nomograms and departmental guidelines to provide medication-related recommendations.
  • Prevent and resolve drug-related problems through consultations with prescribers and documentation of interventions.
  • May oversee the work of pharmacy students, interns, and technicians to ensure performance standards are maintained and work is accurate and precise.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
  • One year of hospital experience preferred, or new graduate under contract through the Emory tuition program.
  • Preferred: PGY1 residency with skill set to advance to Clinical Pharmacist II.
Compensation and Benefits

$64.25/hour (flat rate). This position is eligible for shift differentials.
