Accountant Job Description

The selected candidate for this Accountant position will be responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role involves reviewing job costs, preparing house profit analyses, and conducting monthly close procedures. Additional responsibilities include preparing balance sheet account reconciliations, posting bank deposits, and processing timely payment of property taxes and monthly amortization. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and three to five years of related experience. A CPA certification is preferred.   • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including financial statements and budget analyses.
  • Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure timely completion.
  • Review job costs, including budget variances, cost code errors, and posting errors.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Post bank deposits and create related cash receipt journals.
  • Process timely payment of property taxes and monthly amortization.
  • Monitor fixed asset purchases, ensure timely capitalization, and depreciation of assets.
  • Prepare the B&O excise tax return and ensure timely submission.
  • Responsible for various weekly and monthly reports, including the Weekly Sales Report, Back Charge Report, Marketing Report, Warranty Expense Report, and Production Report.
  • Oversee Due Diligence Reconciliation and review.
  • Review SG&A expenses and provide coding.
  • Review employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and documentation.
  • Update the sales tax rate sheet and reconcile the RE Tax Excel spreadsheet.
  • Monitor upcoming projects requiring a new city license and application.
  • Prepare Business Review Worksheets (BRWs) and upload to DocuNECT.
  • Assist vendors with any questions as needed.
  • Prepare journal entries as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of data.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email.
  • Ability to sit for the majority of an 8-hour workday.
