Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Physical Medicine Director, the Physical Therapist will organize and administer prescribed physical therapy programs to reduce and/or prevent disability and help patients achieve their maximum functional potential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate and treat patients as prescribed by the referring physician.
  2. Record treatment, response, progress, and discharge information in the patient's chart or enter information into the computer.
  3. Educate patients, family, and significant others regarding their condition, treatment, and home program.
  4. Confer with physicians and other practitioners regarding progress, regression, or changes in the treatment plan.
  5. Orient, instruct, and direct assistants, aides, and students.
  6. Maintain professional growth by attending department meetings, inservice, and educational conferences.
  7. Assist with the planning and implementation of new programs.
Qualifications:
  • BS, MS, or DPT degree from an accredited program in Physical Therapy required.
  • Licensure by the state of Connecticut required.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
Experience:

Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred.
