Position Overview:

Chevron Renewable Energies is seeking applications for the role of Mechanic Technician. The selected individual will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure optimal functionality of the plant by conducting regular maintenance.
  • Execute corrective maintenance, adjustments, and urgent repairs as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, overhauls, and upgrades of electrical, safety, and instrumentation systems.
  • Engage in predictive maintenance activities to foresee potential issues.
  • Document and update work orders in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Prepare requisitions for necessary parts and materials.
  • Be available for emergency call-outs.
  • Support Turnaround Project planning and scheduling.
  • Conduct failure analysis and propose improvements.
  • Continuously learn new skills to enhance plant maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams and external contractors to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist operations as required.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts and man lifts.
  • Provide support to maintenance, engineering, and operations management as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience with a strong technical foundation.
  • Availability for regular and overtime work as needed.
  • Proficient in using office equipment, including computers and calculators.
  • Basic knowledge of software applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a process plant or production environment, particularly in biofuels, petrochemicals, or refining.
  • ISA Certification.
  • Associate degree or advanced training in I&E Technician.
  • Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) or Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for providing technical expertise.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Awareness of new technical developments and the ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
Physical and Environmental Considerations:

This role may involve moderate to high stress levels during testing and analysis. It requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, and to engage in various physical activities throughout the facility. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels, as well as potential contact with chemicals and hazardous materials.
