About the Division: The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) serves as a key government entity, overseeing judicial systems, correctional facilities, and rehabilitation services. The Commercial and Contract Management Directorate (CCMD) is tasked with overseeing procurement and contract management throughout the MoJ, handling an annual expenditure of £7.5 billion across more than 1,600 active contracts.

Role Overview:

The advertised position is situated within the Commercial Property team of CCMD, dedicated to assisting the MoJ in delivering appropriate, secure, and sustainable facilities. Key responsibilities encompass the management of outsourced Facilities Management contracts, the formulation of procurement strategies, and the assurance of timely service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and directing the complete procurement cycle
  • Crafting procurement strategies and tender documentation
  • Managing procurement schedules and evaluation methodologies
  • Executing complex contracts to ensure optimal value
  • Providing commercial advice and support to stakeholders
  • Conducting activities in accordance with legal and governance standards
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting in project planning and risk management efforts

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial contract management and/or procurement
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
  • Capability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement principles
  • Experience in Construction, Facilities Management, or Property sectors
  • Knowledge of e-procurement systems and progress towards MCIPS
