Optical Assembly Technician

Job Overview:

The role entails conducting optical and mechanical inspections and documenting precision optical components during the final assembly phase.

Responsibilities encompass both incoming and final inspections.

The individual will also oversee the execution of first article inspections, ensuring all necessary documentation and certifications for products are processed and collected in accordance with ISO standards for final shipments.


Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties include the following tasks: Familiarity with surface quality standards as per MIL /5,20/10,40/20,60/40,80/50.

Competence in operating mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, drop gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, measuring loops, microscopes, and CMM inspection equipment for both in-process and final inspections of assembled components.

Cleaning optical components to meet inspection and final assembly standards.
Ability to interpret optical and mechanical drawings for element inspection and final assembly in line with drawing specifications. Proficiency in following the MRB process for the manufacturing review board to ascertain the disposition of components.

Requirements:
Skills: Proficiency in English is essential for communication. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.

Education, Experience, Certifications: High School diploma is mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of experience in optical or mechanical inspection of components is required. 1 to 3 years in a manufacturing or assembly environment is essential. 1 to 2 years of experience in optical manufacturing is preferred. 1 year of experience in optical inspection of coated optics is also preferred.

Willingness to work overtime as needed to fulfill end-of-month shipment requirements.
Ability to perform basic mathematical tasks and accurately document findings.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Extended periods of sitting at a workstation and working on a computer.
Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to navigate various departments within the organization’s facilities.
This position requires on-site presence, with no remote work option.
