Medicaid Reimbursement Analyst I

Role Summary:
The Reimbursement Analyst I (RA I) plays a vital role in delivering consultative services, developing policies, and conducting data analysis under the supervision of the Manager V within the Acute Care School-based Medicaid Resource and Training team (SMRT) in the Provider Finance Department.
This position acts as a subject matter expert, providing continuous education to providers and serving as a key resource for Local Education Agency (LEA) providers in a specified region.
The role requires daytime travel primarily within designated Educational Service Centers (ESC) regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly attends work in accordance with agency leave policies and fulfills assigned responsibilities.
- Provides technical assistance to LEAs participating in the SHARS program.
- Travels to offer in-person support and consultation to LEAs in the assigned region.
- Analyzes performance metrics to assist LEAs in optimizing federal reimbursement opportunities.
- Conducts training sessions for service providers on billing procedures and claim submissions.
- Engages with various stakeholders regarding the SHARS program.
- Creates policy documents aimed at outreach and training for the SHARS program.
- Assists with office and HHSC operations as required.
This position necessitates travel across designated Educational Service Center Regions. Candidates should be prepared for frequent travel within these areas.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of health and human service programs, accounting principles, and Medicaid regulations.
- Competence in cost report analysis, relationship management, and problem-solving.
- Ability to interpret policies, utilize software for payment processing, and adhere to deadlines.
- Expertise in training personnel, leading teams, and effectively communicating with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in preparing comprehensive reports and briefing documents.
