Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cake Decorator to join our team at Food Lion. As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing cakes and pastries that meet our high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other associates to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Product Knowledge: Understand the use of ingredients, mixes, and icings and coordinate colors to create visually appealing products.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and food handling/preparation to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ordering and Receiving: Ensure that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines.
  • Adherence to Company Guidelines: Maintain a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
  • Food Safety and Workplace Safety: Understand and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Accident Reporting: Report all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Uniform and Appearance: Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron, complete with name badge, when on duty, and maintain a neat and clean appearance while adhering to the Food Lion dress code.
  • Technical Skills: Understand and use company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO).
  • Training and Development: Successfully complete Computer-Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses.
