Position Summary

The primary role of the Sand Unloading Specialist is to efficiently and safely transfer sand from rail cars to trucks within our facility. This position involves the daily handling of various bulk materials, ensuring that all operators and truck personnel adhere to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and effectively manage the loading and unloading processes of railcars and trucks.
  • Conduct inspections of the product levels in each railcar.
  • Adjust and operate switches as necessary.
  • Assist truck drivers during their arrival at the facility.
  • Coordinate with the scale house operator regarding product details and production metrics.
  • Verify the calibration of conveyor belts to ensure accurate product weight measurement.
  • Monitor the basic operations of the conveyors and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance on conveyor systems.
  • Execute any additional tasks as assigned by the Transloader III or Manager.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education with demonstrated analytical and judgment capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including a half mask respirator, hard hat, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capability to walk around work sites, operate around heavy machinery, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with transloading equipment.
  • Familiarity with hazmat protocols and rail yard operations.
