Key Responsibilities

This role supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in delivering innovative and comprehensive care to patients and their families. All employees are expected to prioritize patient needs, ensuring quality, respect, safety, and teamwork in every interaction.

The Operating Room Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing nursing practices and patient care delivery within the Main Operating Room. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all aspects of the Main Operating Room.
  • Conducting personnel tasks such as hiring, counseling, promotions, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Overseeing the performance of all OR staff, including setting role expectations and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Implementing continuous improvements for cost-effective and efficient operations.
  • Collaborating with surgeons to ensure effective communication and satisfaction.
  • Holding team members accountable to high professional standards.
  • Analyzing OR metrics to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Developing collaborative relationships with facility partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Supporting staffing and surgical volume expectations.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or an active multistate Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory or management role, with at least two years of clinical experience in the specialty.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of perioperative services and the ability to effectively lead and direct patient services.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to build strong physician relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of problem-solving independently.
