Position Overview:
As a vital member of the surgical team, you will deliver comprehensive care to adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery, focusing on their psycho-social, physical, and spiritual well-being. Your role will involve effective communication with physicians and team members, assisting in the upkeep of surgical equipment, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for evaluating operating room instruments, procuring necessary supplies, and ensuring the surgical team's requirements are fulfilled. Additionally, you will maintain sterilization logs, mentor new surgical technologists, and support patients throughout their procedures.
Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in peri-operative settings
- At least 2 years of experience in cardiovascular open-heart surgery
- Current certification in CPR/BLS
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory
Communication Proficiencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
