We are seeking a highly skilled Graduate Student Affairs Manager to join our team at Columbia University. As a key member of the Engineering Student Affairs (ESA) team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and professional development of graduate students.


About the Role">

The Graduate Student Affairs Manager coordinates and facilitates aspects of student and academic affairs for Columbia Engineering graduate students. This includes providing strategic operational management of graduate student affairs, overseeing housing allocations, student advising, and signature academic and professional development student events.


Key Responsibilities">

  • 40% Graduate Student Academic Affairs:">
    • ">
    • Implement, manage, and maintain School and University academic policies and practices.">
    • Advise graduate students on various aspects of their studies, including general degree requirements and academic policies.">
    • Monitor and track individual students' degree progress, registration status, academic standing, and status changes.">
    ">
  • 30% Engineering Student Affairs:">
    • ">
    • Serve as a liaison to other schools and university offices to manage processes and resolve any issues that arise with students.">
    • Draft and distribute communications to proactively inform students and SEAS academic departments on policies and procedures.">
    • Serve on the Engineering Student Affairs graduate student conduct committee.">

  • 10% Housing:">
    • ">
    • Manage and analyze housing allocation for SEAS graduate students in Columbia Residential buildings.">
    ">
  • 10% Academic and Professional Development Events:">
    • ">
    • Provide onboarding, orientation, and programming for doctoral students and ongoing opportunities for professional and career development.">

About You">

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who possesses excellent interpersonal and administrative skills. A bachelor's degree is required; graduate level work is preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience is required.


Estimated Salary Range">

$73,000 - $80,000 per year.
