Position Highlights

Work Environment

This position operates in a clinical setting with no weekend, holiday, or on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate sonographic equipment and conduct diagnostic examinations.
  • Perform clinical assessments and a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, vascular, and obstetric procedures.
  • Utilize cognitive skills to adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological findings.
  • Exercise independent judgment to distinguish between normal and abnormal results.
  • Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to the Radiologist.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during examinations.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the ultrasound department, including equipment maintenance and supply management.
  • Participate in training and mentoring of ultrasound students and new staff.
  • Engage in quality assurance and laboratory accreditation processes.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of an accredited program that meets certification eligibility requirements.

Experience: No prior experience required beyond educational qualifications. Certification must be obtained within specified timeframes based on experience level.

Certifications: ARDMS certification and BLS certification are required.
