About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder, a leading provider of transportation and logistics solutions. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer systems
  • Replace defective components and perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions
  • Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation to track work and maintain records
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
