Senior Financial Analyst Position

The Baltimore City Public School System is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead our financial analysis team. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert guidance and oversight to a group of financial analysts while engaging in sophisticated technical and analytical tasks related to financial management and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of the financial analysis team
  • Manage assigned projects and project teams effectively
  • Formulate, recommend, and clarify financial and budgetary policies
  • Develop budgets, track revenues and expenditures, and create budget amendments
  • Examine financial statements to identify trends and propose solutions
  • Generate financial reports and presentations for stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and legal standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or budgeting
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial management software
