About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deli/Bakery Manager to join our team at IGA Southeast. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for leading the deli/bakery department to achieve sales, shrink, and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service: Ensure that guests receive polite, friendly service from the deli/bakery department hosts.
  • Sales and Profitability: Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the deli/bakery department.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain desired levels of inventory and supplies.
  • Department Operations: Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of product for sale meets company standards.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to company standards.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to ensure deli/bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
  • Product Preparation: Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
  • Labor Management: Maintain department's labor budget and scheduling standards.
  • Communication: Perform PA announcements and communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Requirements
  • Leadership Skills: Friendly, outgoing personality and ability to work well with others.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand information and direction.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of deli operations and ability to supervise hosts including training and development.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Customer Service Skills: Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
