Job Summary

CBRE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in our buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment and systems.
  • Monitor building system operations and performance, and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal efficiency and safety.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
  • Prepare estimates detailing the amount of time and materials needed for completing tasks.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Perform specialized and complex tasks such as carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding, furniture assembly/relocation, and locksmith tasks.
  • Perform inspection of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Use PC and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training.
  • Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and eight or more years of experience in electrical systems, refrigeration, and/or HVAC.
  • Universal CFC certification required.
  • Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
  • Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

Working Conditions

The Senior Building Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
