Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and expand a team dedicated to detailed process engineering throughout the development and construction phases of projects.
  • Provide essential technical assistance to the operations team for projects that are operational.
  • Evaluate existing processes to uncover opportunities for enhancing efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, and devise strategies for process optimization.
  • Collaborate with procurement specialists to assess and select equipment and components that meet project specifications and performance standards.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety evaluations for processes and equipment, implementing necessary safety protocols to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project activities, technical data, and design modifications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical process engineering, ideally within industrial or municipal wastewater treatment sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, COMSOL) is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety protocols relevant to mechanical systems and processes.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is preferred.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience in constructing industrial-scale resource recovery systems, anaerobic digestion, nutrient removal, and RNG facilities.
Location and Travel
  • This position is based in Southern NH, with options for hybrid or remote work depending on experience.
  • Travel requirements are typically around 25%, with potential increases up to 50% in certain months.
