Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders by establishing diagnoses, setting care objectives, and monitoring evolving conditions.
- Care Planning: Formulate individualized patient care plans by analyzing medical histories, documenting health conditions, and collaborating with family members.
- Patient Education: Provide essential information to patients regarding disease management, treatment alternatives, and preventive health measures.
- Assisting Procedures: Support gastroenterologists in conducting endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and endoscopies.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside a diverse healthcare team, including nurses, nurse practitioners, and dieticians, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold a safe and healthy environment for patient care by adhering to infection control protocols and organizational policies.
- Professional Development: Enhance professional knowledge through workshops, literature review, and participation in relevant professional organizations.
- Hospital Rounding: Engage in hospital rounds on a monthly basis.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Valid license in good standing in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of one year of experience in gastroenterology or a related field is preferred.
- Training in General Medicine or Gastroenterology is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively.
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
- Strong organizational skills to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Robust clinical assessment and diagnostic capabilities.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.

Physical Requirements:
