Job Overview

Position Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) with expertise in gastroenterology to become a vital part of our healthcare team. The PA will work in conjunction with gastroenterologists and other medical professionals to deliver thorough care to patients experiencing gastrointestinal issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders by conducting assessments, establishing care objectives, and collaborating with physicians to ensure effective treatment.
  • Care Planning: Formulate patient care strategies by reviewing medical histories, documenting conditions, and defining interventions tailored to individual needs.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about disease management, treatment options, and preventive health measures.
  • Assisting Procedures: Support gastroenterologists in performing endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and endoscopies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of patient encounters in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including nurses and dieticians, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Safety Compliance: Uphold safety and health standards by adhering to infection control protocols and organizational policies.
  • Professional Development: Enhance job knowledge through continuous education and participation in professional organizations.
  • Hospital Duties: Engage in hospital rounds as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Active and valid license in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in gastroenterology or a related field is preferred.
  • Training in General Medicine or Gastroenterology is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology.

Physical Requirements:
