Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse of the Special Care Unit at Eastern Connecticut Health Network is a critical role that requires exceptional nursing skills, compassion, and attention to detail. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to join our team and provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' conditions and care needs, including physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of adult and geriatric development principles and age-appropriate care practices.
  • Assess and manage pain effectively, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on assessment and patient response to treatment.
  • Follow medication administration guidelines and reduce medication errors.
  • Provide safe and effective patient care, prioritizing flexibility, organization, and stress management.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and family inclusion in teaching.
  • Practice autonomously, adhering to evidence-based standards, and pursuing personal and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • Current licensure in the state of Connecticut
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Basic computer skills
