Compensation Package

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Geriatric Care Assistant to join our team. As a Geriatric Care Assistant, you will provide direct resident care in a team-focused environment, promoting health and independence. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting
  • Providing assistance with mobility and functional nursing care, as defined by the nursing care plan
  • Developing professional relationships with residents, family members, coworkers, and supervisors, ensuring open communication and mutual respect
  • Assisting with assessments and treatment procedures, including vital signs, specimen collection, skin care, and oxygen therapy
  • FOLLOWING INFECTION CONTROL GUIDELINES, INCLUDING STANDARD PRECAUTIONS AND BIOHAZARDOUS MATERIAL HANDLING PROTOCOLS
  • Providing oversight and assistance with nutritional and hydration needs
  • Accepting resident assignments and direction from the Nurse Leader
  • Demonstrating awareness of shared responsibilities for resident care needs and contributing to the general care and order of resident rooms, belongings, and common areas

Required Skills and Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include prior experience working directly with senior citizens. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
