About the Chief Technology Officer Position
The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for leading the design and development of innovative technology systems and tools that support Working America's mission.
This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Information Officer to evaluate the existing systems, processes, and tools utilized by Working America.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance to the executive leadership regarding technology architecture, including recommendations for organizational growth and expansion;
- Oversee the design and development of new technology systems and tools to enhance organizational capabilities;
- Implement technological solutions, applications, automations, and system integrations that optimize workflows across the organization;
- Conduct Research & Development to continuously explore new technologies that can benefit the organization;
- Establish strategic partnerships with technology vendors and industry leaders to foster innovation;
- Assess new technologies for compatibility and interoperability with existing systems;
- Align technology architecture with organizational goals;
- Make recommendations regarding the hiring, promotion, and management of technology staff;
- Provide hands-on support for ongoing projects;
- Manage relationships with consultants and vendors to ensure project timelines are met;
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- 10+ years of relevant experience in technology architecture, design, development, and team leadership;
- Expertise in computer systems, networking, databases, mass communication technologies, and software algorithms;
- Experience in managing technology procurements, including documentation and review of statements of work;
- Proficiency in programming languages with the ability to read and write code;
- Strong strategic planning and goal-setting abilities that yield measurable outcomes;
- Experience working in dynamic and complex environments, both on-site and remotely;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in problem-solving;
- Strong research and analytical skills;
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail;
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality;
- Capability to estimate technical solutions;
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

The salary range is $160,000-$190,000, including medical insurance and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions.
