Job SummaryThe Piping Fabrication Sales Representative II is responsible for prospecting new customers, determining customer needs, preparing estimates and quotes, and selling mechanical fabrication services. This position focuses on meeting sales objectives, developing customer relationships, and creating a backlog of fabrication to support short and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities- Sales and Business Development: Sources and contacts potential external clients weekly, documents and reports on findings accurately, thoroughly, and timely.
- Customer Needs Assessment: Determines customer needs, estimates work, prepares quotes, suggests upgrades, and develops/presents solutions based on fabrication services offered.
- Internal Sales Support: Assists in generating fabrication from internal customers.
- Sales Performance: Monitors, reports, and meets or exceeds sales objectives.
- Proposal Management: Develops and maintains an active proposal backlog that will support achieving the designed sales plan.
- Customer Interaction: Documents and tracks customer interactions weekly, including sales calls, customer service interactions, marketing correspondence, and customer follow-up.
- Relationship Building: Develops long-term relationships to create brand loyalty.
- Product Knowledge: Thoroughly learns the company's service offerings to explain to potential customers and persuade sales.
- Team Collaboration: Assists the team in creating and carrying out a successful sales strategy.
- Order Coordination: Coordinates with production/customer service managers to ensure orders are handed off to be fabricated and delivered.
- Experience: Must have five (5) years of experience in Mechanical, HVAC, or related sales or experience in sales of other manufactured/fabricated to order products.
- Technical Skills: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Soft Skills: Must be organized and self-motivated with the ability to source leads, make cold calls, follow-up calls, and visit potential clients.
- Professionalism: Professional manner and appearance.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Multitasking: Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline.
- 20% of time will be spent traveling to job sites/office locations.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
- Climbing stairs.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
