As a Retail Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing clinical care to patients, assisting in the operation and management of the pharmacy, and ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical care to patients, including patient counseling and prospective drug use evaluation.
  • Perform initial patient evaluations and collect, analyze, and interpret data relative to medication therapy.
  • Evaluate the significance of signs and symptoms relative to disease processes and make recommendations for the modification of drug therapy.
  • Monitor patient records for potential drug interactions and allergies.
  • Provide counseling and answer questions from patients, family, and healthcare professionals concerning drug therapy.
  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Identify and resolve patient-specific medication-related problems and issues.
  • Ensure dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with all legal requirements, regulatory agencies, and Fairview Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedures.
  • Responsible for error management activities and accurate billing to payers.
  • Utilize technologies to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the dispensing process.
  • Assist site manager in training and supervision of pharmacy support personnel.
  • Provide work direction to technical personnel and prioritize assignments.
  • Maintain proficiency in the skills and theory of the practice of pharmacy.

Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree or PharmD in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • Current Minnesota Pharmacy License.
  • One to three years of practicing experience as a pharmacist in a community setting.
