Key Responsibilities- Lab Operations Management
- Lead and manage the lab engineering team to support the execution of all testing in the lab, balancing the needs of customers with available resources.
- Manage operational metrics to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness of the operation.
- Customer Engagement
- Work with test lab customers, primarily product development engineers, to achieve excellence in testing quality and on-time delivery.
- Operational Improvement
- Implement and prioritize operational improvements of testing for greatest impact relative to investment.
- Support achievement through continuous interaction with engineering team members.
- Technical Expertise
- Effectively use technical expertise with industrial chillers and hydronic systems to assist the test engineering team with solving complex issues.
- Facilitate the sharing of knowledge across the team.
- Automation and Process Development
- Create and expand automation opportunities to increase overall utilization of facilities and efficiency of operations.
- Develop new procedures, processes, and resources to provide more efficient, accurate, or advanced testing services.
- Team Leadership and Communication
- Lead and manage a team of technical staff.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with team members and customers.
- Education
- BS required; MS preferred.
- Experience
- A minimum of eight (8) years' experience managing HVAC/R equipment development, servicing, or testing, with a high level of understanding of HVAC/R systems, concepts, and diagnostics.
- Skills
- Well-organized and capable of managing numerous competing priorities.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and take ownership of assignments.
- Excellent people management and communication skills.
- Strong organization and problem-solving experience.
- Ability to guide or mentor less experienced technical personnel.
- Strong group communication skills, presentation skills.
