Job Description:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of garages within a region, ensuring the safe and dependable use of company-owned vehicles. Key responsibilities include managing staff, maintenance, safety, and third-party vendors, as well as implementing and achieving fleet operational programs and policies.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all Company, Local, State, and Federal mandates or programs.
  • Create a Continuous Improvement environment by improving products, service, and processes.
  • Oversee mechanics that perform all mechanical repairs needed to all types of vehicles/equipment.
  • Knowledge on how to perform light and heavy-duty repairs in order to coach and/or train mechanics.
  • Champion special projects to achieve budget and productivity goals.
  • Utilize Fleet tools and programs to manage defined standards.
  • Complete and lead fleet audit compliance and correction within area of responsibility.
  • Manage preventive maintenance program compliance, maintain accurate records on all services and DOT /State inspections performed.
  • Complete incident reports and conduct full incident investigation to determine root cause.
  • Administration of Fleet Department Safety programs within the region.
  • Review purchasing programs and manage parts inventory.
  • Acquire and maintain expertise in our fleet maintenance management software
  • Assist in controlling annual budgets, and implementing cost cutting measures.
