Job Summary:

Northern Light Health is seeking a Registered Nurse II to join our Hospice Care team. As a Registered Nurse II, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals in need of hospice services.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Safety: Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by understanding and complying with agency policies and procedures, and identifying and communicating potential safety risks.
  • Clinical Assessments: Perform and document comprehensive and holistic assessments, and interpret and respond to abnormal diagnostic data.
  • Caring and Code of Conduct: Develop a relationship with patients and families that facilitates mutual involvement in the planning of care, and treat patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrate basic critical thinking skills.
  • Documentation: Document patient care in a concise, accurate, and complete manner, reflecting adherence to agency, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Population-Specific Competency: Complete population-specific mandatory education competencies, and identify age, cultural, or other population-specific patient needs based on assessment findings.
  • Evidenced-Based Practice and Research: Practice is consistent with Northern Light Health policy and procedures, and understand evidence for practice change.
  • Leadership and Professional Conduct: Utilize effective time management and meet expectations for punctuality and attendance, and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to support staffing needs.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Actively implement and update multidisciplinary plans of care, and collaborate with internal and external resources to meet patient care needs.
  • Resource Management: Identify opportunities to improve utilization of resources.
  • Professional Development: Take responsibility for meeting education and mandatory programs, and seek opportunities to promote and advance professional growth.
  • Performance Improvement: Demonstrate knowledge of and contribute positively to department performance improvement outcomes.
  • Productivity: Provide service and produce work at or above expected levels of quality and consistent with agency-defined quantitative standards.

Requirements:

  • Credentials: Registered Nurse
  • Education: Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 1 year of clinical experience

Working Conditions:

  • Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds
  • Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends)
  • Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive people
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials
  • Potential exposure to noxious odors
