Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Sonographer to join our team at SSM Health. As a Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing high-quality images for interpretation.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure.
  • Provide high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Education and Experience

A completion of a Sonography certification program is required. No experience is necessary, but a strong understanding of diagnostic imaging principles and practices is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Constant standing and walking are required. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far, frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication, and frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

Required Professional Licenses and Certifications

A registered sonographer holding two or more registries appropriate for the department(s) in which the sonographer works is required. Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) certification is also required.

Work Shift and Job Type

This is a variable shift position, and the job type is employee. The scheduled weekly hours are 20 hours.
