The successful candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, particularly in the configuration of VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), trunk port-channels, stackable switches, and chassis-based systems. This position is essential for the effective implementation of the project, ensuring that network stability, performance, and security are upheld throughout the upgrade process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the LAN upgrade project, collaborating with various stakeholders to minimize operational interruptions.
- Remotely configure and deploy Cisco switches, following industry best practices and organizational standards.
- Set up and manage VLANs, STP, trunk port-channels, and other necessary network protocols.
- Oversee Layer 3 switch configurations, including routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues remotely, ensuring quick resolution to reduce downtime.
- Work with cross-departmental teams to fulfill network integration needs and guarantee seamless connectivity.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of network setups to ensure reliability and optimal performance.
- Maintain documentation of network modifications, configurations, and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Keep updated with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices to enhance network infrastructure continuously.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) are preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a Network Engineer, particularly in LAN upgrade projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including VLANs, STP, trunk port-channels, stackable switches, and Layer 3 switches.
- Experience in configuring and managing routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Strong grasp of network protocols and standards.
- Expertise in remote network management and troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic setting.
- Prior experience in overseeing large-scale network upgrades or refresh initiatives is advantageous.
