Position Overview:


The Clinical Speech Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing treatment programs for individuals experiencing challenges in comprehension, articulation, or communication due to developmental issues, medical conditions, or injuries.

This role adheres to the Speech/Language Practice Act along with the policies and procedures of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate the severity of speech, language, or swallowing difficulties.
  • Establish client-specific goals for therapy.
  • Design and execute tailored treatment plans that address unique functional requirements.
  • Instruct clients on sound production, voice enhancement, and fluency maintenance.
  • Assist clients in expanding their vocabulary and improving sentence construction.
  • Support clients in developing and strengthening the muscles necessary for swallowing.
  • Provide guidance to clients and their families on managing communication and swallowing challenges.

Conduct evaluations, treatment strategies, and therapeutic interventions in a collaborative environment, integrating into educational settings and utilizing both direct and indirect service models.

Opportunities for co-treatment and co-teaching are available, alongside individual and small group therapy options.

Collaborate with a team of Speech-Language Pathologists, special education professionals, and other related service providers in a supportive and engaging educational environment.


Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Possession of a Limited License or an active Maryland SLP license.
  • Certification from the CCC-SLP and ASHA.
  • A valid driver's license is required, along with compliance with state driving regulations.

Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in educational or residential settings.
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience.
