Fire Alarm Systems Designer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Systems Designer to join our team at Power Design. As a Fire Alarm Systems Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design and installation of fire alarm systems nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the design and installation of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local codes.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to team members on fire alarm system design and installation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, project team members, and inspecting authorities to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and implement fire alarm system designs that meet customer needs and budget requirements.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience designing and installing fire alarm systems, including high-density, high-rise, and smoke control systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required; Revit experience a plus.
  • NICET level II and/or level III certifications highly preferred.
  • Strong electrical design fundamentals and experience with electrical equipment and installation.
  • Proficient knowledge of local codes and construction safety requirements (including IBC and IECC).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field preferred.
