Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and testing of fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of fire alarm systems, including networked and non-networked systems
  • Troubleshooting and repair of complex fire alarm systems
  • Inspection and testing of fire alarm systems
  • Assisting in the training and direction of helpers
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of work performed

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA requirements, and industry standards for fire alarm systems installation
  • Experience with various system manufacturers, including Honeywell, UTC, and Siemens
  • Troubleshooting skills, including researching online and using system manuals to resolve problems
  • Experience with conduit bending, understanding of blueprints, and wiring schematics and layout of system installations
  • Exceptional communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff, and subcontractors
  • Ability to adapt to changes in priorities, work assignments, and other interruptions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing or progressing with projects and assignments
  • Ability to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • May work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
  • May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including dust
  • May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights

Travel:

  • May require travel, typically not overnight

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
