Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Job Summary:
Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for executing procedures in assigned areas of the laboratory to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid healthcare providers in diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of disease.
- Conduct a variety of basic and complex laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, quality control, quality assurance, and waived, moderate, or high complexity testing.
- Manage blood inventory, prepare blood products, and issue blood products for transfusion (if assigned to the Transfusion Service).
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and maintain the highest level of safety and reliability in testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biology or related science.
- CA Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- 2 years of experience as a CLS Generalist Trainee or a Limited CLS Trainee.
- Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence in routine specimen collection, preparation, testing applications, laboratory operations, and quality assurance in one or more assigned clinical specialty areas.
- Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks.
- Ability to compassionately and effectively interact with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs, and behaviors.
Work Environment:
Variable days, rotating weekends, 20 hours per week.
