We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prepared Foods Cook to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our food preparation team, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining a wide variety of food products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets.
  • Prepare food items according to recipe to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Ensure that all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and rotated.
  • Monitor food levels and replenish in a timely manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance with Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards.
Requirements:
  • 6-12 months retail experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures, and to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
