Job Summary

The Clinical Neuropsychologist position at Stony Brook Medicine involves direct clinical neuropsychological service. The primary responsibilities include comprehensive neuropsychological assessment with lifespan populations. We are seeking a qualified individual with expertise in lifespan neuropsychology to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration, scoring, and interpretation of neuropsychological assessment measures.
  • Report writing based on comprehensive assessments.
  • Involvement in multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Interviewing and consultation with patients and families to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Possible involvement in psychotherapy and/or family support groups related to neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.
  • Participation in departmentally based research programs to advance the field of neuropsychology.
  • Supervision of graduate students in psychology and postdoctoral fellows to ensure their professional development.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a PhD, PsyD, or equivalent degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion or in the process of completing a neuropsychology fellowship.
  • Licensed or eligible to transfer license to practice psychology in New York state.
  • Primary training in lifespan neuropsychology.
  • Eligibility for board certification through the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology, the American Board of Neuropsychology, or the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology.
Additional Requirements
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
  • Complete electronic reference checks with a minimum of three professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen.
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
