This commitment is reflected in our remarkably low nurse turnover rates and our growing reputation within the healthcare community.The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering direct nursing care to residents while overseeing the daily nursing operations conducted by nursing assistants.
This oversight must align with the prevailing federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, as well as directives from the Director of Nursing to ensure that the highest quality of care is consistently upheld.
Responsibilities include:- Directing the daily activities of nursing assistants.
- Collaborating with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan services, programs, and activities for the shift.
- Preparing written and oral reports or recommendations regarding shift activities as necessary.
- Managing the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
- Providing leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit or shift.
Documentation and Reporting:
Complete and maintain necessary recordkeeping forms and charts upon resident admission, transfer, and discharge. Accurately receive and transcribe physician orders, documenting them on the Physician's Order Form.
Chart nursing notes in a clear and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided and the resident's response.
Carry out routine charting duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.Foster a collaborative working relationship with inter-departmental personnel and other facility departments to ensure that nursing services meet residents' needs.
Strive to create an environment of warmth, personal interest, and positivity, ensuring a calm atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.
Receive and provide nursing reports during shift changes.
Professional Services:
Administer specialized nursing services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes, and IV care as permitted by licensure. Monitor nursing personnel to ensure compliance with established safety protocols regarding equipment and supplies.
Uphold the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.Ensure that all nursing care is delivered in a private setting, with nursing staff knocking before entering resident rooms.
Possess the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language. A strong understanding of nursing and medical practices, as well as relevant laws and regulations, is essential.
Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Ability to move throughout the workday is required.
Meet the general health requirements established by facility policies, which include a medical and physical examination.
In emergency situations, it may be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents.-
