Job Summary

The Math Intervention Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the academic growth of elementary students in Caroline County Public Schools. This position requires a strong background in mathematics and education, with a focus on developing and implementing effective math interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach county-approved math interventions and small groups to students in need of additional support.
  • Coordinate math intervention programs with school administration, math resource teachers, and supervisors to ensure fidelity and effectiveness.
  • Review and evaluate student achievement data to place students in appropriate math interventions.
  • Utilize protocols to ensure interventions are implemented with fidelity and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver professional training for teachers on approved math interventions, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and new developments in math and literacy, and share this information with colleagues.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mathematics or Elementary Education preferred.
  • Hold a Maryland or be eligible for a Maryland educator certificate.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current math standards, methodologies, and instructional interventions.
  • At least 3 years of successful teaching experience.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and proficiency in technology, including data analysis and reporting.
Working Conditions

This is a 10-month position with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, paid via the Caroline County Board of Education Teacher Salary Scale. Placement on the salary lane/step will be based on knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities related to this position.
