Job Summary

The Security Officer is a vital member of the Sonesta International Hotels team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, employees, and visitors. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security and Safety: Ensure the security and safety of all hotel assets, guests, and employees by enforcing security policies and procedures, and maintaining a high level of awareness of potential security risks.
  • Incident Response: Investigate and respond to incidents, accidents, and complaints in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that all necessary procedures are followed and that guests and employees are treated with respect and dignity.
  • Asset Protection: Prevent losses due to theft, burglary, pilferage, and other criminal activity by monitoring hotel premises, securing facilities during non-operating hours, and conducting regular patrols.
  • Guest and Employee Support: Provide excellent customer service to guests and employees, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete accurate and detailed reports of incidents, accidents, and other security-related matters, and maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in security or a related field preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds; ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; and ability to work in extreme temperatures.
